Steve joined Shorterm as CEO in October 2010 and is responsible for leading the development and the execution of the company’s long-term strategy. Previously, he spent a number of years with s.com (now part of the Impellam group of companies) working his way up from a recruiter to being Managing Director from 2005 to 2010 and seeing the company grow significantly under his stewardship.

Patrick joined Shorterm in 2011 as Finance Director, bringing 15 years of experience in the field of acquisitions and investment. Patrick started his career with Deloitte, and has held various executive roles within investee companies having spent several years as a board member for Private Equity companies including Kelso Place Asset Management and Hibernia Capital Partners helping to manage acquisitions, identifying investment opportunities and transforming several companies from loss to profit within just a few years.

Steve is a commercially focused IT professional with 25 years international executive management experience. Prior to joining Shorterm in 2010, Steve held several CIO/IT Director roles within other leading staffing brands including Carlisle Group and K2 Partnering. Since joining Shorterm Group, Steve’s track record in the design and implementation of technology, applications and telecommunications solutions in large scale complex staffing organisations has proved invaluable. He continues to innovate with the introduction of new technologies that have been instrumental in major contract wins.

Rob joined Shorterm in 2010 as a Director following over 20 years in the engineering recruitment industry and is responsible for recruitment operations across the Automotive, Rail Rolling Stock, Power and Energy and Telecommunications sectors. A qualified Mechanical Engineer, Rob has utilised his extensive skills and experience to build successful relationships with senior stakeholders in some of the UK’s largest engineering organisations. Prior to joining Shorterm, Rob set up and ran a successful engineering recruitment firm subsequently selling it to Meridian Business Support where he became a main board director and spent the following 11 years driving performance to achieve high levels of success.

Duncan has over 20 years' experience of providing strategic manpower solutions for those sectors across mainland Europe both with Shorterm Group and in previous roles with Impellam. Adept at building teams capable of delivering best-in-class delivery performance in both traditional blue and white collar environments, he has a strong track record of developing major corporate clients including British Airways, Rolls-Royce and General Electric. He has consistently delivered extensive cost savings and improvements in efficiency for clients through innovative use of cost reduction and fixed price solutions.

Lawrence joined Shorterm in 2013 as Director of Rail and has extensive experience of managing multi-disciplined teams and projects across the engineering sector. Working predominantly within the Rail Infrastructure sector, he is responsible for strategic and operational management of the Network Rail, Transport for London and Principal Contractor contracts. Prior to joining Shorterm, Lawrence was a director at Vital Services Group, one of the UK’s leading rail recruitment and project support providers, and holds degrees from the University of Wales and Liverpool John Moore’s University.

Maria has worked for 8 years, latterly at a senior level with a major training provider directing and managing the winning, implementation and operation of many multi-million pound contracts for utility companies. Maria has managed the day to day operations of a large training business with particular focus towards the Water Industry clients and their needs. This has included working closely with companies to produce training plans, recall systems, booking processes and management reporting. As well as being involved in IT system based projects to support internal and external learning management systems.

With over 20 years of recruitment experience, Mark is responsible for our Construction, Engineering, Motorsport and Water sectors. He focuses on nurturing niche recruiters who can identify and source scarce skills for our clients. Mark started his career with Shorterm, then held senior management roles with Mane Contract Services and Resourcing Solutions, returning to Shorterm in 2016. He has supported high-volume projects such as Crossrail and Thames Tideway alongside clients such as Network Rail and TfL.

Mark has over 20 years’ experience in technical recruiting and MSP and RPO staffing solutions. He has held senior leadership roles at Cable & Wireless, Adecco and Manpower. He led Manpower’s Project Solutions division, developing workforce productivity management solutions and deliverables-based staffing solutions to early adopter clients. Mark joined Shorterm in 2019 and is focused on leveraging the capabilities of the Group to solve the challenges our clients face in the ever-changing world of work.
