Bombardier have appointed Shorterm Group to recruit assembly workers throughout 2019 to meet their manufacturing demand for the next 2 years.

Shorterm Group are looking for a large number of both electrical assemblers and mechanical assemblers in Derby and will be holding an Interview Day to carry out assessments for those who are interested in the positions available. 

Whether you are currently looking for work or are in employment and fancy a change of career we would love you to come along to our Interview Day! As long as you have a willingness to learn you do not need any previous experience for the electrical assembler role and for the mechanical assembler you only require a basic mechanical knowledge.

Saturday 23rd March - The Pedigree Suite, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8XL

Doors will be open from 9.30am until 3pm so please come along at the time most convenient for you.  There are various car parking facilities around Pride Park, some are free but some will require payment.

 

What to expect on the day?

On the day you will firstly complete a short informal interview for us to get to know you and to discuss your experience and current situation in regards to work.  Therefore, it is ESSENTIAL you bring your up to date CV in paper format. You may also be required to complete a basic English and Maths test and dependent on the role you are applying for an additional colour blind test or basic tool test. If you are being assessed for the mechanical assembler role you will also carry out a practical mechanical test.

(Please Note - Without a paper CV we will not be able to interview or assess you. There will be no printing facilities available on the day)

Please see below timings for interview:

1 - Interview – 5-10 minutes

If assessment required:

2 - English & Maths Test – 60 minutes *

3 - Colour Blind Test/Tool Test – 5-10 minutes

4 - Practical Mechanical Test (if applicable) – 20 minutes **

 

Please be aware you may be required to wait between assessments during busy periods of the day.

*Written Assessments - please advise a member of staff before the assessments if you require any additional assistance.  

Please note:  The question papers are designed to identify what level a candidate is at, such as Level 1, 2 or 3.  We are looking for candidates to be at Level 2 or above. This is essential as the training package has to be learnt and completed to an acceptable score within 5 days.
