Shorterm Group are recruiting over 40 Mechanical Fitters for our major client Alstom at their Crewe Depot. These roles are to carry out the Mechanical Overhaul of Rail Bogies and Mechanical/Electrical Overhaul of HVAC units offering long term contracts and immediate starts.

Whether you are currently looking for work or are in employment and fancy a change of career or industry we would love to talk to you!

You do not need to have a Rail Industry background as other practical trade backgrounds will be considered, and paid training is provided.

Rolling Stock, Automotive, Marine, Plant, Aviation, Military, HGV Technicians, Assembly, Engineering, Car Garage, Fitter, Rail are some of the alternative industries and backgrounds considered.

Mechanical Fitter (Training and Upskilling provided)

Job location: Crewe, Cheshire

Duration: Ongoing

Start date: November onwards

Hourly pay rate:

£18.25 PAYE / £23.65 Umbrella (Post training)

£16.06 PAYE / £20.79 Umbrella (Training rate - approx. 6 weeks)

Position overview:

Completing Mechanical Overhaul of Rail Bogies

Completing Mechanical /Electrical Overhaul of HVAC units

Candidates will be required to carry out the following duties:

• Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering
• Wheel set overhaul, repair and analysis
• Bogie and gearbox engineering / repair
• HVAC overhaul, damage repair and engineering
• ReadElectrical Schematics and Technical Drawings
